Want to keep fit and make lots of new friends? Tenterfield district Tennis Club has a fantastic 'social tennis' program. Wednesday is 'ladies day' every week with organized social play and morning tea provided. On Saturday afternoons the Club swings into full gear with 'mixed' social tennis, including afternoon tea, followed by a bit more tennis.
At tenterfield tennis club we do things a little differently. To help make you feel welcome we have a 'buddy system' which broadly means that a visitor or new member is placed under the wing of an established club member.
On your first visit, and until you've found your feet, you'll be well and truly looked after including having the social set play format explained to you (quite perplexing if you're new ), a quick tour of the club facilities and most importantly, you'll be introduced to fellow members.
Not a member but would like to 'try out' the Club? Visitors are welcome to come down, pay a nominal fee, and experience a wonderful afternoon of organised social tennis.
The Duty Captain organises each round of matches, so all you need to do is bring your racquet. Saturday social tennis starts at 2pm during Winter and 3pm during Summer. If you're a little worried about the standard of your game and whether you can play to a 'reasonable social level', then Tennis skills activities can provide you with some great practice to get you on your way.
